Hi, thank you for contacting me. I am an At-home groomer who grooms in the pet’s own home. I do not have a mobile unit at this time so I would need a space to work in. If a bath is required, a tub/shower/sink needs to be provided but I do provide haircuts only (with nails, pads, sanitary and ears included) if an area is not available. I charge by service and weight, with a $20 convenience fee for coming to the house not number of pets, or State mileage rate for over 40 miles from my Home Base of Texas Twp, Kalamazoo.

Grooming

This is one of our most popular services, so make sure to reserve time today. Full grooming involves a bath and haircut that meets your pet’s best needs. These are home pets and I focus on comfort before looks when it comes to the best style for all involved. I will do my best to meet your requirements but most pet’s using my services are usually ones that salons and other groomers have turned away, either due to age, health issues or attitude. I focus on what is best for the animal first and foremost.
Reduced Shedding
Not spending as much time as needed on your pet’s shedding problem? Is it snowing in your home and are allergies flaring? Pawsome Styles can help. Don’t let your busy schedule interfere with your furry friend’s well-being. Give the care and attention they deserve by taking advantage of this great service.
This service can be tackled in a variety of ways. Depending on the animal, a bath could be needed first, but I try to remove as much loose hair as possible before bathing. Ideal for larger dogs is to blow and brush them outside where cleanup can be done by nature. (The birds and small animals LOVE shedding season for their nesting and do a good job of helping clean up the yard.) If outside is not an option, an enclosed area such as a bathroom or small room keeps the hair and dust contained. Sometimes, it takes as long for me to clean up as it does to perform the service. I do my best to leave a clean area after services.

Maintaining a dog’s coat can be a challenge, whether you have a Shih Tzu or a Shetland Sheepdog. Finding the time to care for it may not always be possible. Whether you keep the coat long or like the low-maintenance shorter cut, finding someone you can trust can be a chore. Regardless of your animal’s type, age, mannerisms or quirks, each of my services can be customized specifically for them. Haircuts are to the benefit of the animal. I will do my best to follow a parent’s instructions, but know that the focus is placed on the pet’s needs and comfort first for me. I will not force a pet to suffer through a full combing out if it would just be better to take him/her shorter for ease and comfort for them. Hair does grow back and the benefit of an at-home grooming is that stress is less in their comfort zone than in a busier and more chaotic setting.

Brushing out the tangles and loose undercoat is essential for getting a good groom. Brushing can be, and should be done at home, to help cut down on human and pet health issues. What Do You Want to Know?
It’s natural to have lots of questions when you’re letting a stranger take care of your pet. What if my pet is a vegan? Will my pet be in contact with other aggressive animals? These are just some of the common questions that I provide answers for below. What are your basic Prices?
Prices vary on size of your beloved pet, and work performed. There is a standard Convenience Fee of $20 with every visit no matter the number of pets we are working on. Michigan State mileage rates are charged for anything over 40 miles from my home-base in Texas Twp.
Dog Sizes are 0-24, 25-59, 60-98 and 99 or more.

What vaccinations are required?
I require that your pet is up to date on shots, including a current rabies shot. Please supply this before first appointment. Information of vet and vaccinations will be entered into pet account. I only require rabies because the pet is in their own home and it’s just protection for all in the event of a serious injury.
My dog has allergies and sensitive skin.
I will work with you and your pet to ensure that we use only the safest products and nothing unnecessary that can react to your furbaby’s skin and senses.
Pawsome Styles uses PP AromaCare shampoo that uses essential oils and natural ingredients, as well as BarkBasic shampoo and conditioner to assist in caring for a range of skin issues.
How much experience do you have? How do you handle dogs that have been termed “difficult”?
I have 12 years of Corporate experience with 6 years now applying my talents in home grooming. I have worked with many breeds and personalities and can adapt to any situation. I rely on working with a pet with the use of muzzles as a necessity versus the norm. I also deploy the use of hammocks/slings and other safety equipment to ease some of the common stress factors.
What exactly is At-home grooming? How is it different from traditional grooming?
At-home grooming refers to bringing the process of caring for your dog/cat in the comfort of his/her own home. Imagine having the ease of mind of not having to take your fur-baby somewhere else. The whole service is completed IN the home, within sight or sound of their family. Stress and anxiety is reduced for both the parents and the pet making a more relaxed environment for all.

I am a Woman Veteran-Owned Small Business with 15+ years experience of pet care and grooming. After working for a corporation for 12 years, I went independent as I found that pets were less stressed in their own environment.
I’m a single mom to one two-legged and 3 four-legged males who have multiple issues, like anxiety, reactivity, and mental disorders, which have helped me to work with various pets and their “quirks”.
Animals are my passion and trying to help them live their best lives, even if it’s only giving them a bath or haircut. I have more patience for animals than other groomers I have worked with in the past.
Know that when I am working with your pet, I am treating like they are my own (and if you ask mine, they will tell you I treat others’ better than I do mine :-))
